MotorGuide Trolling Motors

MotorGuide can trace its history of manufacturing trolling motors to the 1960s, when G.H. Harris of Jackson, Mississippi partnered with a maker of grandfather clocks to produce a foot-steered trolling motor.
By the late 1960s, the company had patented rack-and-pinion steering and MotorGuide brand name was in place.
In 1984, the company was purchased by Brunswick Corporation, then the brand became part of Brunswick’s Mercury Marine operating company.
